Local Horse Trainer’s Life Story Selected as Winner
at 15th Annual International Family Film Festival

Local writer Sabrina Zackery, won first place with her script Are We There Yet? at the 2010 International Family Film Festival in Los Angeles. The script, based on the life of local trainer, Joe Donohue, was inspired by a magazine article Zackery wrote about Donohue over 20 years ago.
The film festival honors writers, producers, directors and actors who focus on family stories that for features, television, animation and documentaries.
Donohue was featured in the book, Stories from the Sagebrush, a compilation of stories celebrating rural Nevada. Zackery and Donohue train horses for carriage driving in Sierra Ranchos, Nevada and created the 15 Minute Horse Lesson DVD series.

The 15th Annual International Family Film Festival has selected the script Are We There Yet? penned by Sabrina Zackery, as a finalist at the 2010 film festival which will be held in Hollywood, California March 10 - 14, 2010. The script, a short version of the feature script, Ms. Zackery, will be in attendance at the festival narrating the script, while actors portray the story based on the life of Donohue, horse trainer and creator of The 15 Minute Horse Lesson.

Horse Trainer Joseph Donohue featured in Stories from the Sagebrush-hired to train actors for motion picture Blackwater Valley Exorcism

Horse trainer, Joseph Donohue, was hired to train actors and supply horses for the film Blackwater Valley Exorcism, starring Cameron Daddo. The motion picture completed principal photography on December 16, 2004 in Wahsoe Valley, Nevada. Donohue, featured in the book, "Stories from the Sagebrush" was on location during the filming to train actors on the correct way to handle horses. Horses he trained, Chayse Manhattan and Cmdr. William T. Ryker are featured.
